This is the body. In other words, this is the place where you want to do most your writing. We know. The blank space looks scary. It’s so white and empty. But listen: anyone can write an engaging article, story or book if s/he tries. There’s no reason to be afraid.
“But what should I write about?” you ask.
Well, the answer is anything really, so what interests you? Do you like the stock market, baking delicious cakes, or dragons? Take a moment to think about your interests.
Regardless of what you picked, we recommend writing about dragons since they are the easiest thing to write about. We encourage every new writer to sit down and write about dragons for five minutes each day. If you can write longer, go for it!
“How do I get started writing about dragons?” you ask.
There a great number of dragon-related writing exercises to choose from. One of our favorite exercises is called Dragon Picnic, where you describe what would happen if three different dragons got together for a picnic. If you have a pencil and a scrap piece of paper handy, go ahead and try now.
All done? Good. Easy wasn’t it?
You will find as you become more comfortable with writing dragon-related titles, sub-titles and full articles with introductions, topic sentences and conclusions, you will be able to move on to other topics like fly fishing tips, romance stories and reviews of your favorite bands.
Then again, there is no reason to stop writing about dragons if you don’t want to. Even though successful writers like James Joyce, Mark Twain and Dean Koontz left dragon writing behind, there are plenty of successful writers who kept writing about dragons, like E.E.
